BBC Scotland to Stream Worlds Again This Year

July 27, 2010
This is great news. I watched the whole thing last year and, apart from getting very little sleep, it was brilliant. The tyranny of distance is really becoming less of an issue now. There will be two NZ bands competing in the grade 1 qualifiers. Hopefully they will get to play again later in the day. Plan to stay up on the evening of the 14/15 August.

They say that the best way to improve the World Pipe Band Championships most years would be to put a roof over it, and once again BBC Scotland will allow enthusiasts to stay warm and dry in the comfort of their home by providing umbrella Internet coverage of the event via live video streaming of the Grade 1 competitions.

BBC Pipeline features Greg Wilson

May 5, 2008

Well worth a listen any time, but this week’s Pipeline features Greg Wilson. It also has performances of Munro’s Salute and Sir Ewen Cameron of Lochiel’s Salute from Breton piper Patrick Molard, some rip snorting playing from Stuart Liddell and other fantastic music. IMHO one of the more interesting programmes. Click here to listen.
