Message from the Wellington Pipers Club.
A reminder of our next club night to be held as usual on the 2nd Thursday of each month at the City of Wellington Pipe Band Hall Hansen St, Newtown, Wellington.
Next Club Night – Thursday 14th April 2011 -“Prelude to Hastings.” We had some great piping at the last club night in March with tunes from Andrew Edwards, Gary Watt, Donella May, Bruce Omundsen and Nigel Foster. Nigel played the ground of “His Father’s Lament for Donald MacKenzie” as a tribute to Alastair Munro and the victims of the Christchurch earthquake.
Our next club night will be focussed around those who are planning to compete at the Hawkes Bay Highland Games at Easter weekend. If you are looking for an opportunity to have a tune in front of a sympathetic but critical audience and put yourself in the right frame of mind for competing at Hastings, you are invited to contact John Hanning and advise him of which event you would like to present to the audience at the club night.
Hope to see you there. Ross Hanning, Secretary, Wellington Pipers Club.
